The Bed & Breakfast "Casa Franca" (Franca's home) offers the opportunity of a pleasant stay in Venice, being located in the venetian mainland, just at Marghera, Villabona locality, with the possibility to reach it by car and to park free inside the enclosed garden.

So you can leave your car and, with a saving of time and money, you get to "Piazzale Roma" by bus and then, on foot or by "vaporetto" or gondola (the caracteristic venetian black boat), all the best historical sites of Venice: S. Marco square with the Basilica, the Doge's Palace and the Bell Tower, the Rialto bridge and the other most famous places and magnificent palaces along the "Canal Grande"

Venice was built on a lot of islands of a lagoon at north of Adriatic sea, during the barbarian invasion; the lagoon that you can admire arriving from the "Ponte della Libertà" ( Bridge of the Freedom) and where you can visit the islands of Murano (glasses), Burano (pillow laces), Torcello, S.Lazzaro degli Armeni, Lido, S. Pietro in Volta, Pellestrina, Mazzorbo etc., leaving from "Piazzale Roma" or " Fondamenta Nuove" or S. Marco, always by "vaporetto; so you can know the beauty of the lagoon and the excellence of its restaurant.

The railway station of Mestre is near, about 3,5 km.: you can take the bus n° 3 in Durando street at Marghera and get off at the 2 nd. stop in Villabona street n° 91, at a very short way from the B & B; if you arrive from Venice "S.Lucia" railway station it's easy to reach it by bus n° 6 or n° 66 from "Piazzale Roma" to Marghera, "Trieste street" in front of the Church, at 300 meters from the B & B.

"Casa Franca" puts at the guests' disposal two double- rooms, with private bath, ideal for families, couples, friends, relatives, to enioy a pleasant, comfortable and peaceful holiday. In one room it's possible to have an extra-bed. The rooms are provided with a remote control to manage the temperature of the air conditioning, the hair-dryer and the alarm-clock and with bed and bath linen; the daily cleaning is guaranteed.

You can take advantage of a lot of books in the personal library, situated in the hall and in one of the rooms.

"Casa Franca" is free for children until 2 years and offers favourable conditions for children until 8 years and for families.

At your arrival the keys of the house are consigned to permit you the most freedom.

During the beautiful season the good Italian breakfast, sometimes with home-made cakes and jams and fruit from the trees of the private orchard, is served below the porch, where you can eat your meal or you can smoke a cigarette, if you like.

You can also take sun in the garden and relax.

The B & B is near the main roads of the region: 2,5 km. far the motor way A.4 Milan- Venice; 1 km. far the ring- road of Mestre, towards Treviso, Trieste, Udine, Tarvisio, the beaches; 5 km. far "riviera del Brenta" ( road between Venice and Padua), with its wonderful country- houses, once holiday residence of rich venetian patricians. The best and the largest is "villa Pisani" at Stra, with a magnificent italian garden and the famous maze.

You can also sail along the river Brenta by the boat "Il Burchiello", visiting the country- houses and dining (from March to October).

In Venice there are many cultural activities and shows like the Cinema exhibition, the Biennale (art exhibition), the historical Regatta (all in September), the Redentore festival (in July), the Carnival (in February).

The location of "Casa Franca" allows you a comfortable place to pause if you must embark from "Marittima" (Venice port) towards Adriatic and Mediterranean sea, Greece etc.; allows you to visit Padua, Treviso, Vicenza, Bassano del Grappa, Asolo, Conegliano with its peculiar wine road, Sottomarina, Chioggia, the beach of Jesolo.

In front of the house the bus n°3 leads you to the center of Mestre.

Near "Casa Franca" there are a manege and a swimming pool, opened in summer.

At Martellago, 10 km. far, there's "Ca' della Nave", a golf field.

At Ca' Noghera, 14km. far, there's the Casinò; near there's the international airport of Venice,Marco Polo, at Tessera, 13 km. far, and you can reach the B&B by bus n°15 to Marghera or by taxi.

If you want we are available to take you at the airport or at the railway station of Mestre with our car, of course with a small share.

From the airport "San Giuseppe" of Treviso (27 km.far) the bus arrives at the railway of Mestre about in 40 minutes.

At last we draw your attention to S.Giuliano park, one of the largest in Europe, opposite Venice with cycle and foot paths, that arrive until the lagoon; the Vega, Scientific and Technological Park, and the Forts once used to defend the lagoon.
